Beverley Dunn is one of Australia's best known and experienced actors. Beginning her professional career at sixteen, she played in hundreds of radio plays, both in Australia and for the BBC in London, including the role of Joan of Arc in THE LARK.
Beverley is well known to Melbourne Theatre Company audiences, appearing in productions including LITTLE MURDERS, IN CELEBRATION, SCENES FROM A SEPARATION, LIFE AFTER GEORGE and SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH. Her Playbox Theatre Company credits include THE SICK ROOM, ALL SOULS and A HAPPY AND HOLY OCCASION (for which she won a Green Room Award). Beverley also toured Australia for HIT Productions in HOTEL SORRENTO and performed in the Nick Enright play A POOR STUDENT for The Store Room at The Malthouse. In 2005, Beverley completed a successful season in the McPherson Touring production of UNDER MILK WOOD.
In 2000, Beverley performed the role of Miss Prism in the celebrated production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST with Patricia Routledge which toured Australia, and played at The Savoy Theatre, London.
Beverley celebrated 50 years of association with the Melbourne Theatre Company by performing in THE VISIT and HUMBLE BOY as part of the 2003 season.
Her first solo show, AS WE ARE, an Anthology of Australian Writing, toured throughout Australia and her celebration of Dame Mary Gilmore, TO BOTANY BAY ON A BONDI TRAM toured to acclaim in Australia, the US, and the UK. More recently Beverley revisited Mary Gilmore in a new production, THE DAME ON THE TEN DOLLAR NOTE, which has been touring Australia.
In addition to many guest roles in television series such as ALL SAINTS, NEIGHBOURS and PRISONER, Beverley played continuing roles in BELLBIRD (five years as Mary Emerson) and THE FLYING DOCTORS (two years as Clare Bryant). Her film appearances include BRILLIANT LIES, GROUND ZERO and Beryl Alcott in the acclaimed film SHINE.
Beverley has appeared with both the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and West Australian Symphony in Dramatic Concerts including JOAN OF ARC AT THE STAKE, KING DAVID and A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM. She has also narrated dozens of audio books for which she has won several awards.
Beverley most recently performed in a national tour of HOTEL SORRENTO.
